Dry-mountingOne of the best and most reliable ways of mounting prints, posters and fabric is a method called dry mounting. This process uses a combination of heat and pressure to permanently mount items so they will stay flat and wrinkle free. This process is quick, clean and safe. The process uses a heat activated tissue rather than messy glues or sprays. The pressure is provided by a press.
The pressure helps squeeze out the air from between the artwork, the adhesive tissue and the backing board.
The heat is the temperature that is used to activate the adhesive tissue, usually around 150 to 200 degrees for just a couple of minutes is enough to get a strong permanent bond. There is no limit to the size of art that we can dry mount Dry mounting prevents the art from waving and removes wrinkles. We recommend the process for prints, posters, diplomas, and certain types of photographs and fabrics. |
Sew MountsFabric pieces such as the jersey to the right are hand stitched to acid free sub-straight such as mat board or foam core. Sewing is the safest way to mount fabric. Some of the items that would require a sew mount are:

Float MountsFloat mounting is a great way to display your art without covering the edges. When we normally mat a print we cover about 1/8 th of an inch all the way around so that it stays in the mat. . |
